Ive got a NTE5 master socket that bt put in its not wired for any extension as bt would have charged me for that and thats fine as i dont need any other phone points,So as the only wires that are going into the NTE5 socket is bt's wires would it help my connection at all if replaced the front with a IPlate?

Yea ill be carful:confused: Its only the case of taking the front piece of isn't it? Im not that bothered if its doesn't make any difference because it will make things look a bit neater:)

The I-Plate only filters out interference on the 'ring' wire. Unless you have another socket connected in through the master socket you will probably see no or very little improvement. If you were to get an extension to another socket then the I-Plate would be something to look at.

I see now,Im assuming there is no bell wire as i only saw two wires just as he was finsing it off,Is there any way i can sort out the noise margin as its not a steady number,Upload noise margin is perfect.

EDIT: I thinking im talking about the wrong thing i thought the NTE2000 was the same kind of thing,So its the NTE2000 im asking about.

If the NTE5a has just been installed then the I-Plate won't help you, everything it has is already built into the NTE.

Well it was bt who came out and replaced it but i doubt it was one that had a filter built in because im sure they would have charged me for that socket,The XTE-2005 could be a better filter than i allready have.

No, the I-Plate just disconnects the bell wire. The OpenReach branded NTE5a sockets have an RF filter built in which achieves exactly the same thing. We aren't talking about ADSL filters here.
