Right peoplezzz,
there are two networks of which are both joined together and know of each others existence via DHCP (they are not joined via domain forests or sub domains etc, strictly IP only) and via connection through TMG on one side and ISA on the other (Over the internetz).
And we're trying to set-up DPM 2010 to backup remotely across the internet this clients data etc. The DPM machine itself lets say is on a an address of 192.168.0.*/24 with its DNS servers being on the clients network lets say 192.168.20.*/24 as well as the server being on the clients domain.
Now when the server tries to push the DPM agents it fails stating an error 400 where as its not in a trusted domain etc couldnt get access to the other servers etc....(also did this on VPN)
So Ive tried to install the DPM agents manually and set the name of the DPM server (Ive also installed and not set the name of the DPM server) Then on the DPM server tried to attach it to the server, this then gets me many RPC & WMI errors![RedFace :o :o](/styles/default/xenforo/vbSmilies/Normal/redface.gif)
![Confused  ](/styles/default/xenforo/vbSmilies/Normal/confused.gif)
In which both the RPC Service and the WMI (the management one as there a 2 WMI services) are running and so are all of their dependancies
(all internal firewall have been tested as off or the service allowed in all cases it didn't work)
We then tried to edit some registry settings to allow the RPC and SMB / DCOM ports typically used to be set (just in case) and edited both TMG and ISA accordingly sticking this as the top rule and applying it to the PC ... again this didn't work ...
So we then put the server on the outside network past the firewall and tried to connect via itself or via VPN again it didn't work.... I must note we ran queries on both ISA and TMG on all connection tests and not once was the connection denied as well as we were checking the event logs on the servers we were installing the agents on, and got nothing to indicate what was wrong on the agent side ?
![Confused  ](/styles/default/xenforo/vbSmilies/Normal/confused.gif)
![Frown :( :(](/styles/default/xenforo/vbSmilies/Normal/frown.gif)
Now, Im pondering whether to make the DPM server a DC in which Id have to set up sites rules etc but I really dont think that would make a difference, any help ???
