Yes, it's another one thread in the W&OS forum for me.:o

I use NOD32 myself, and have two other computers with NOD32 installed.

"So...what's the question?" you're probably wondering. Well they each have 56K modems, and this is a very slow way to update NOD32 every couple of days.

So what I want to be able to do is, stick the download the updates on my broadband connection, put the updates onto a USB disk, and copy/install these updates onto the other machines.

How? :p

NOD32 supports both automatic and manual updates. By default, an automatic update task is scheduled after the installation of NOD32. If necessary, a manual update can be forced by clicking the Update now button in the main update panel.

For update to work properly, the following conditions must be fullfilled:

Update over LAN:

* a correct user name and password must be specified in the update setup panel (if either the server or worsktation is running an NT-based system and updates are not retrieved through HTTP)
* a valid server must be selected (we recommend to use UNC paths intead of mapped drives which may not work on some systems)

Update from the Internet:

* a correct and valid user name and password must be specified in the update setup panel
* the update server should be set to automatic selection (which is, by default)
* an Internet connection must be established at the time an update is performed

That only supports update via the LAN though.

I'm talking about leaving my house, going to another, shoving the update files across, and job's as good as done. :p

Hmm interesting question. I've had a quick look on the support site for NOD32 and it seems there are two ways to update NOD32. The main one is the normal way, just download the updates on each PC. Then you can do the LAN method as posted earlier in the thread.

I couldn't find any info on copying updates from one PC to others using USB disks. Perhaps this is because NOD wants each PC updated individually in case they aren't sychronised with each other in terms of which updates they have. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I can't see how this can be done.

Perhaps you need to look on here and see if anyone else has done this. If they haven't then you might want to post a thread there. There might be a better chance of you getting the information you need there rather than here.

if their not online what are you worried about?
Sometimes discs are taken inside the building, from elsewhere.

I think an antivirus software would be good protection, even if it was only updated once a fortnight.
