Just signed up on a sim only plan yesterday 500mins, 5000txt and 1gb data for £12.50 on a 30day contract. I got it last night in store at around 5:30pm and my number was ported across at around 11am today, so far so good.

A mate of mine sent me a MMS from his Iphone (this is the only one so far) but instead of getting it direct to phone it came through with a link and password to go to o2's website.

Obviously thats not going to me convienient so I phoned tesco mobile up and they basically have tried to tell me that his message/ photo was too big and was above whatever limit 02 set for tesco's messages. Surely he sent it as a mms it would resize the picture to whatever it should be.

Are they fobbing me off? All the mms settings appear to be ok if its not going to work im tempted to cancel within the 14 days but what would happen with my number would they give me another pac code?

No, they are right. You can usually change the max payload size on a phone, networks set it up by default for their networks. It's even possible for different content types (pic, vid, audio, text, multimode) to have different limits.

There' no point in cancelling over this, not even close. Tell your friend to send an email/whatsapp instead.

Maybe to some but I actually like sending and receiving them that way (then again it does cost) any idea where to look on phone to change the settings you mentioned?

But come to think of it my wife is also on tesco mobile and she doesnt seem to have the same problems, ill try and get someone else to send me one, i know when i send them it comes up on screen resizing image when sending as mms not sure if the iphone does that? Never had this problem on Orange tho
