Question for Quest 2 Owners

So im currently in a very long wait for a 3080 and my PC is redundant while I play as I can't bring myself to play with my old 960 card. So I thought I'd take a punt and buy an Oculas Quest 2 after reading it doesn't need a pc. But I do have a few questions if people would help me out.

I did used to own a Vive which was obviously tethered to the computer. Am I likely to be disappointed with the graphics on the Quest when compared to the Vive? Its been a few years now and it's not a deal breaker. Just want to know if there's a big difference. Obviously once my GPU arrives I've read that I can play my old vr titles on the Quest. If tethered or linked to the computer do the graphics or experience improve any?

I've got a yearning to play onward, I already own it but thinking of getting it again for the quest but I've read that all the graphics have been dumbed down on it.

Many thanks in advance

Thanks for all the answers guys. I guess using it standalone until my card finally arrives will be good enough. I'll just make sure to buy games especially made for the Quest until then

So my Quest 2 arrived today and I have to say I'm impressed. I was kinda expecting a downgrade in graphics from the Vive I was used too. Admittedly its been 18 months since I last done any VR but fairly impressed. I've only spent a couple of hours playing Onward and Vader Immortal.

Only downsides for me is I will need the elite strap for extra battery capacity. Also it physically hurt my forehead. That might be a problem. Putting the glasses spacer helped a little but still hurt my head. Wondering if the Elite strap will help with this or not? Got a bit nauseous playing Vader Immortal but I think its a case of getting used to VR again.

Just really hope my 3080 turns up soon so I can use link and make the most of my VR library.
