Question for the WoW top level raiders

My, how things have changed. No more The warlock/mages Show. Good to know as I'm currently sitting with 6 lv70+ chars and want to know which DPS is worth taking all the way.

Mages can do nice damage .. Great burst .. But tend to settle around 6-8th in the meters unless very well geared ..

Rogues were doing amazing damage and seem to have had a boost from what the guys in the guild said ..but not had one in a raid to check .

Moonkins do ok if they know how to play and SP's got a boost but not seen one near the top of the meters .

Persil

Rogues do seem to have been buffed since the latest patch.
DKs are still very good seem to hover around the top 4.
We have a feral dr00d as dps in our guild and she knocks out some great dps too. She is not far behind my DK.

I dont have any WWS to link however.

I think it depends on boss encounters, party/group setup, and what you are supposed to do, it is silly that people still want to be the Top damage dealers, imo as far as you dont stay well behind others which means that you know which rotation to use then youll be fine. And you will always have top dps for single target, then top dps for aoe and so on.

And remember that range dps is always/most of the times more needed than mele dps.

apatia77 has got it there tbh. Being top of the meters is just an e-peen thing I guess.

Only reason I rolled DK was because I liked the class mechanics plus we wanted a DK for raiding, and after being a holy priest healing since pre-BC. I wanted a shot at button bashing :p

end of the day doesnt matter how good one persons dps is. If the raid isnt up to stratch then its gunna fail.

Btw apatia77 I like the sig :p

SPs got a boost (if you can even call it that, my DPS went down) but practically every other DPS got even bigger so we're currently at the bottom, or near it now. I look at 3.1 meters and it's nowhere near as nice as it was before. Apart from Misery we don't even have a utility anymore. Bit annoyed with the direction we're taking.

It's always been rogue as far as I know it. I knew a guy who was in Method and his rogue was always top DPS.

It's all they are capable of and therefore probably going to be better at it than any other class in terms of pure damage dealing and the ability to keep going and not stop all fight. (mages/warlocks/oomkins WILL run out of mana eventually).

Hmm, dunno. What with the mana changes, we're a bit more useful as mana regen again, but yeah in general, pointless.

They haven't always, and no matter which guild it is, you can't take single small group of players and use them as a litmus test for the DPS capabilities of every class in the game. Personal skill differences factor into it waaay too much when you're talking on the scale of a single guild or even a single realm of people.

What do you guys think is the most interesting or "skilled" class to DPS as? I want to roll DPS but not as a class that's just one-button spam (mage?). :)

Mages were still the top DPSers in my guild when we were raiding Uldar last week (I quit WoW since then tho, 24hour raiding for like 5 days kinda finished me off). A well geared DK was the only thing that could match them, however the mages are aggro magnets and need hand of salvation often if they are really pushing the tank.

TBH, all classes can do insane DPS if you play them right. Our raid leader is always top 3 dps as a shadow priest, but thats because in AOE fights he DoTs absolutly everything while he nukes the main target, he was pulling 7-8k DPS on Sartharion (in full t7.5 gear) when the whelps were spawning.

Hunter is probably the most challenging\hardwork\perfect rotation needed\etc class to play imo, but because of that also the most fun.

I would pick the DPS you like playing more to take to endgame raiding, although I would say that hunters and enhancment shamans seem to be in short order on our server.

Given equal gear, I would say there is easily 1-3k dps difference between someone playing their class to the max and someone that is just along for the ride (Uldar gearwise anyway) regardless of class.
