Hi there, I am planning on getting a 24" monitor, I currently have a phillips 200w6cs 20" monitor (Not HDCP). I wanted to use my PS3 on my monitor but I cannot display a 720p picture from the PS3 to the Philips monitor. I've tried everything from HD Fury to the other Componect to vga convertors, but these devices will not display the picture correctly for some reason.

I am looking at getting the Dell 2408, I know it will be perfect for the PS3 through HDMI, and HD gaming from the PC.

The question is, on a 24" screen, what does games being played at 1280x1024 look like? I still have some games and emulators that i will be running at those lower resolutions. Do they look Good, OK or terrible?

Thanks in advance.

on a pc 1280*1024 can look one of two ways:

1) you can use your monitors inbuilt scaling to make the image crisp But it really will be rather a small image in the centre with a black border filling hte rest of the screen. probably still usable though - i use 1440*900 which is not very different in terms of screen space.

2) you can allow the image to stretch to fit the entire screen but it will look, well, stretched and imho quite poor.

I have a 2407 rev04 which I believe was the first 2407 that did the 1:1 scaling. I have it set to do 1280x1024 as 1:1. Perfectly crisp image with black borders around the edge. The bottom and top borders are only 90 pixels wide each and I don't really notice it.
