Currently I share my 2mb ADSL connection with my daughter, and I'm finding that when she's on her PC my connection is very slow especially if I'm gaming online, so basically I want to know if there is anyway I can limit her connection?

Cheers

If you haven't figured she's probably downloading :)

And the reason why its slower when your Online Gaming, is because its trying to process her large amount of Data aswell as your large amount of Data

I don't know what you mean by limit her connection but you could just pull out her Ethernet cable so she can't use the Net or you could turn off the Wireless feature on your Router if shes on Wireless Internet.

Im sure you could put a password on the connection, but I dont know how

As its her PC I don't suppose you could password the Administrator account, and give her a limited account lol

She only uses MSN to talk to her friends tbh, that's why I didn't expect to have a problem with my connection as I assumed MSN would use little bandwith :-/

I just need some way of making sure that the bandwith gets shared equally. To give you an idea if she is on her PC (upstairs) and I'm on CS:Source then my ping will jump around between 30-250 which leads to me getting kicked from servers.

Cheers

Thats odd, if she's only using MSN then you should be perfectly fine

We also have a 2MB ADSL connection shared through our Router to 2 PC's and a Laptop

Basically I am on Battlefield 2/Call of Duty 2 at the same time my Brother is on Call of Duty 2 and at the same time my Mum is on the Laptop and we can both play at 20 - 50 ping with no fluctuations...

/edit - you say its Wireless, do you have any sort of Security on your Router like a WEP key?
If not, some boso (neighbor) may be using your Router too
Is your Broadband capped at like 2GB or something?
