I recently built my dad a PC with vary respectable components (i3, my old x25-m, 1600 ram etc..) the M/B was a new cheap £30-40 gigabyte that does the job however the bios boot time on it is phenomenally quick (sometimes cant even press DEL to access bios its that quick, have to tap it like a maniac, it feels like under 1/2 a second) compared to my mid-to-high end asus approx £150, bios boot 5sec with as many features disabled as possible.
I would just like the know for when i upgrade is there any place that will review this aspect, is there any differences between brands or is this just a consequence of having more features and having the ability to overclock compared to cheaper m/b.
i know it may seem a pointless question but when i can turn on my dads pc from cold boot and its on within 8 seconds before you can sit the chair it feels good.
thankyou for any help

I've always questioned this I find the x58 x79 platforms take an age to load there bios compared to the mainstream p and z platforms so must be down to there complexity.
