Lower volts means cooler running and longer life - although with a lifetime guarantee you may say that doesn't matter...
I always try to undervolt RAM, testing it thoroughly of course with memtest and Prime95 and IntelBurnTest

It is also motherboard dependent - the quality of the power regulation means that RAM may need more voltage on one board than on another

thats all excellent info and i thank you for it but as it says 2.1v does that mean i should set it at 2.1v ?

It means it will go up to 2.1v without anything going wrong, but if you can run it at less than that, then there is really no need.

Well currently ive got it running at 1.8v bios setting and it seems to be doing fine, just got to do the 2 hour run of p95 now and im done.
