Hi guys,
After I got a set of X-brackets for my 4870X2, I was getting very good temps (As per another thread), but then it bailed in furmark and crashed. I have no today, removed the drivers in case they were corrupted, and spent this lunchtime cleaning the TIM from area's of the card (was getting messy after many HSF removals), to try and ensure it wasn't tracing current anywhere. I've now reassembled the card, but the thing that was concerning me was getting the X-Bracket installation correct.
Do I need to tighten the screws/springs all the way down so all four black pads touch the PCB, or just until it's tight, and leaves some tension in the springs (so the pads mostly don't touch the pcb) ?
Really after this advice from people that have worked on ATI cards a lot, and know the answer.
Thanks
