Question on DDR3 triple channel memory and core i7.

Ok not sure about oc ram with new core i7 im just putting together my core i7 system am i right in what i heard no more FSB? So i can oc my memory 12800 memory to 1700mhz and timings of 8-8-8-24 at 3.8 or 4 ghz?

got ocz gold triple kit runing at 1600 with 8-8-8-24 88 2T @: 4.2 gig ok
had to change the rrct and command rate a little, but runs ok.
it did not like going over the 1600 without lots more volts
