Question on DVI cables

Hi all,

I am after a HDMI to DVI cable for my recently built HTPC, but when I look on the net in more detail I find different DVI connections e.g.

HDMI A/M 19P to DVI 18P +1P/M
HDMI A/M 19P to DVI 24P +5P/M

What is the difference between these two, and which would I need to connect to a Gainward 7800GS+?

I would also like to know My friend asked me this, I told him to go for the one with more pins... Next time someone asks I'd like to give them more than a 50/50 guess though

From the looks of it, it depends on what your graphics card or device can handle (analog or digital). Although there are three types of DVI cable to choose from.
