Guys

I have my new rig up and running and the CPU (i7 Haswell), runs at 3.5 default and idles on water at about 26C.

I have upped the RAM via XMP profile to 2400 and that gives me 3.9 on the CPU.

I can run Prime95 and Windows etc nice and stable. Then changed the CPU base manually to give 4.0 with no voltage increase and it boots windows but will fail on Prime on 2nd pass and the two games i tried (ARMA3 & Crysis3) , both crashed.

So what do I need to increase to get better stability at 4.0.

Incidentally, at 3.9 running Prime my CPU gets to about 67C - Is that good or bad.

I must admit Crysis 3 at max everything with 2 x 780TI's is buttery smooth at 3.9

You need to up the core voltage (VCore).

IIRC Haswell throttles when the cores hit 95 degrees. When I game my temps average mid 60's so your temps are fine. Haswells run hot!

bump you vcore upto 1.200v and see how far you can push your cpu on that voltage, just keep an eye on your temps, chances are without some extreme cooling you wont beable to put anymore than 1.25v through your chip, safe upto about 1.3 / 1.35 by the way, as long as load temps allow it, the most I can get through mine is 1.285v under water, 4.6ghz, hits 80oC - 85oC under prime95 load.

I have an EK CPU block and two rads 1 x 240 and 1 x 360.

The 360 is pulling air into the case with 3 x Alpenföhn 120mm Wing Boost Plus PWM Fan - Red Clover Edition fans.

The 240 is push air out the top of case with 2 x Alpenföhn 120mm Wing Boost Plus PWM Fan - Red Clover Edition

I also have a 1 x Alpenföhn 140mm Wing Boost Plus PWM Fan - Red Clover Edition Pulling air out the case.

I ran prime95 today testing it at 4.0 and it was maxing out at 54C and it was stable.

I have my EK 140 pump/res set at 5.

Vcore is at 1.172v
