Question on PHYSIX

I get my 470 tommorrow. I have a geforce 9500gt spare. Can i use that for my physix.

Physx isnt really worth it tbh, unless you play a lot of mafia 2, batman aa.

Yeah you can but I wouldn't bother as a 470 is more than fast enough to do the the physx processing itself with current physx games.

I tried it with the remaining 275 gtx i had, wasnt that impressed tbh. Took the 275 out and sold it on.

Well im going to be playing batman and mafia 2 so i would like too use it. Would i be better off using my 470 for physix? wouldnt my games take a big fps hit?

Nope, may even get better performance with the 470 only.

Yea but wouldnt me using a dedicated card offload the hit on fps?

I currently play mafia 2 on a single gtx 470, 1920x1200, aa on, 8xaf, ambient occlusion on, shadows and geometry on high, medium phsyx, runs pretty well, card clocked at 751/1502/1684.

You'd get lower FPS on mafia 2 using the 470 and 9500 then with just the 470. The 9500gt is too weak for decent physX performance so the 470 would be constantly waiting for it to catch up.

As the others have said, best to use the 470 for PhysX. Sell the 9500GT for some extra cash.
