Been trying to see the max I can get my system to run.
Quick question, if it is stable in normal use, but fails Orthos or BurnTest should I worry?
It (e8400) will run at 4Ghz without issue gaming etc but fails in Orthos after about 30mins.
Can I be causing damage to the system at this point or is it a matter of it runs stably for my own use then it is fine?

Thanks
Andrew

Personally if it fails a full load stress test well within a hour it's unstable - reduce you clock/or temps/adjust voltages and try again. Find your best stable benchmark OC then scale it back.

There is very little real world differance between 3.6 and 4.0 anyway (especially with your high level gpu) so save yourself some money on electric bills and run day to day at a lower (fully stable clock)
