Question re surgery

Hi

Not a medical thead, more a what happens next. Well been told i have gallstones, and lots of them. Im 26 around 6ft and 13 stone, so kinda odd but they run in the family.

Had the untrasounds, x rays and a endoscopy recently to find out what was wrong with me. Now i had a appointment yesterday with a consultant however it was like 2 mins and i feel i didnt have enought time to ask what was required. He just said i need surgery, filled out a form (stuck a sticker on with my name and wrote something across the form) and told me to hand it in to the front desk of that clinic.

Got to the desk and i was told to leave it on the table. I asked what do i do next and she suggested nothing. Okay i thought but as i was walking out i was thinking...how long do i wait, what is the procedure now. Kinda feel stupid for not asking him but he was running so late as he was stuck in surgery and overan by 1 and a half hours....we where all rushed through very quickly when he wa seeing patients.

Does anyone know what these forms do if someone has been in a similar situation, i want this gallbladder out now lol!

My mom and grandmother are in another country under private medical and had the op in under 2 days after being told so kinda not the same (total time from pain to post op - 5 days).

It will most probably be in Telford or Shrewsbury hospital, so close to you :P.

Thanks for the pic, was told i have around 20-30 stones, cant wait for the op. Will almost certainly be going to private insurance after this. When you say 3 months was that in total or after you had everything done and then having to wait?
 
lol, so i can count it OUT being done this year! Been stuggling with this since June so fed up now not eating anything slighly tasty or enjoying my drink :D

I wish they would give you more info. During all the procedures etc etc it was the waiting to hear from them that really got to me.
