Question re thermal compounds

I have just got around to thinking about putting together my new rig after having it delivered a couple of weeks ago and have misplaced my Arctic Silver 3 somewhere, so was wondering how bad the thermal compound that came with my scythe infinity is, and whether is will affect any overclocks significantly if I were to use it. I've got an E6600, DS3. Not really looking to oc it ridiculously, but to a reasonable amount.

Any advice as to whether I wait and get some AS5 or use the thermal compound that came with the CPU cooler

i've only used the thermal compound that was supplied on the heatsink that came with the processor , if its quite faded away id use other compound also.

I meant use the thermal grease/compound that was included with the Scythe cooler

id get some pukka thermal paste in that case
