I'm currently having stability probs running 4 x 1gb sticks of Geil ULL pc6400c memory, so I've whipped out two of the sticks and, voila, stability has returned inasmuch as when running orthos with 4 x 1gig of ram, the pc would bomb out and freeze after about 4 mins. Having now only using 2 x 1gb sticks of ram, I've been running orthos for the past 35mins and all seem stable. I'm obviously gonna run orthos for at least a few hours to check properly, but me question is would I keep stability with 2 x 2gb? In other words, is it having all 4 dimm slots occupied thats causing the freezing or is it that I'm running 4gb as opposed to 2gb? I ask this 'cos if its the 4 dimm slots being used, I'll replace my existing memory with 2 x 2gig of Ocz pc6400c.
Cheers. :)

it shouldnt be happeneing at all. so either its the ram at fault, or the motherboard. whether its just down to setting sor a hardware problem i couldnt tell you

Very true, but won't 1 x 4gb stress the memory controller harder than 2 x 2gb? thats running a fsb of anything from 375mhz to 400mhz, but keeping the memory at stock or below it's rated speed, not overclocking it.
Incidentally, I've now been running orthos at 3.2ghz (400 x 8), memory 1:1 for about 2 hours now with no probs at all.:)
