Question regarding dark power pro 11

I reckon the 6 is a typo as OCUK is the only place that has BN653, everywhere else is BN253 including BeQuiets website. It's a stupidly overpriced PSU though and for a whopping £219 you only get a pathetic 5 year warranty and it's not even fully modular. The Seasonic Focus Plus 850w Platinum is only £145, fully modular and has a 10 year warranty. To be honest a decent gold rated PSU is a good balance and there are several that are worth considering (when stock replenishes) such as these:-

My basket at Overclockers UK:

All are fully modular and all have a 10 year warranty apart from the Phanteks Revolt Pro 850w which has a whopping 12 years and is in stock. I would take any of these over a overpriced BeQuiet unit. Chances are though that you don't even need a 850w PSU unless you are running a pair of GPU's.

Really appreciate the reply. I'll be honest I was only looking at them as I've got 4x be quiet fans in my rig thought they'd do well with the PSU.

I will definitely be looking at the ones you've mentioned. I'll be upgrading my PSU next week. Providing it's in stock and not above normal price lol,

My reason for an 850W is I'm going to be upgrading to, I'm going to guess and say 4800x 8c16t and then either a 3080ti or big navi 6700/6900XT, I want to make sure I've got enough power for that and knowing me ill be overclocking them too.

Do you feel that wirh my current specs plus another nvme and 4xxxx and 3080ti/3090ti or big navi will be enough to have an 850w gold psu? I've only got a 550w gold bitfenix formula right now definitely not enough lol

A 850w unit will be more than enough for what you propose. Although we can't say what power consumption on the next gen cpu's and gpu's will be like I can't see it increasing massively more than the current generations. A 750w or a 850w gold psu should see you covered for quite a few years so make sure you go for one with a long warranty. The Phanteks Revolt Pro 850w with it's 12 year warranty would be a good buy. It's a Seasonic built unit so it's built to last.

CPU power consumptions aren't going anywhere... Except in Intels.
With range up to 16 cores only 8 core AMD won't be power hungry.
Besides overall "package" power also power density will be limiting factor:
Individual cores are nowadays such small, that there's kinda hard limit for how much they can consume power (=produce heat) and it's still possible to remove that heat.

Also graphics card consumptions aren't going anywhere either.
PCIe standard has 300W limit for power consumption.
