Well apple got back in touch, after waiting weeks, and said they cant deliver my Imac (again ..) because they ran out of processor upgrades for the base 27" model, could be 3 weeks now.

Now im not exactly in a rush, so waiting isnt really an issue. And at any point until i get the shipped email i can change my purchase.

Money wise, i can scrape to about the £1,482 cost of the top 27" if i wanted, but it leaves no cash at all for extras / software (Was hoping to use the £80 ~ left over for an office app )
But is the top spec Imac actually better then the first 27" assuming the processor is upgraded?

27" upgraded to I5 3.6Ghz + 5670 vs 27" 2.8Ghz + 5750 ?

Thoughts?
Or should i get an I5 21" and have even more cash left over? is the 27" really that much better?

-edit-
21" + I5 3.6 Ghz + 4GB RAM upgrade comes in at the same cost as the base 27" + I5 upgrade.. better? how impressive is the bigger screen :p

I'd get the 27". My wife has the 21" and it's lovely. But coming from a 30" screen I would miss the space.

mm yeah i see, using a 24" (Although its on its last legs now, along with my system .. hence the change/upgrade :) ) going down to 21" might be a bit too much shock.

So, 27" systems, what would you do?

Thats what im asking.
Im a (soon to be) former PC owner, how does the tech relate to mac compared to windows?

Better GPU is a no-brainer in windows environment, but considering i wont be gaming at all will i really notice it?
Same with the CPU, i know the I5's have turbo-boost, will the boost on the slower processor make it so i wouldnt really tell the difference?

if you see where im coming from.

If it helps, ill be mostly doing Animation and rendering work, with a bit of Photoshop ontop.

I've ordered the 27" with a 3.2mhz i3 and the hd5670. I don't plan on using this for games as I still have my pc, my question is how will the performance be having been used to a phenom II quad core on my pc? Cheers.
