Afternoon, first time joining the forum, but long costumer from overclockers :D

Got a question for you guys.

Like my signature says, i got 3 M.2 nvme ssd on my system, two of them are connected to my m.2 slots, and one i bought a Akasa M.2 x4 PCI-E 3.0 Adapter Card and connected it to my bottom pci-e port, i feel that the system on boot takes quite a bit and that it's a bit sluggish, i haven't run Crystal Mark yet (i'm at work, will do it tomorrow), but what do you guys think what could be the problem (if there is any) and a possible solution.

Thank you!

Welcome aboard.

Have you tried booting with only operating system drive attached?
That could tell if there's some problem in one of the drives.
Adapter itself doesn't contain any active parts, it's simply mechanical and wiring connecting adapter.

Also could try changing BIOS settings, like fast boot, in case it causes some problem.

I admit, I haven't tried that yet, I was just wondering if the problem would be related to the pcie adapter or the other drive, will try that tomorrow.

If wiring in adapter fails to maintain proper signal integrity that could cause issues, when motherboard "tries to have discussion" with drive...
But can't make it out what drive is trying to tell and vice versa.

Oh I forgot to mention, I got those 3 m.2 SSD and also a western digital blue 1 terabyte SSD connected to port sata 4, I believe, (sata port55 and 6 are turned off with 2 m.2, I believe), they are all recognised, just looks like the speed is not used fully.

Bear in mind that additional PCIe ports can be PCIe 2.0 from the chipset. So, more latency and slower maximum bandwidth.

What motherboard do you have?

Edit: Looks like all your slots are PCIe 3.0 at least. Have you checked lane usage?

Update regarding the HDDs, it seems that the intel 660p that was inside the akasa m.2 x4 pci-e adapter card was "hogging" all the lanes usage, i say this because i removed it was an experiment and everything was way quicker then before, using it now as a download drive on my server :)

Thank you to all for your help regarding this.
