Question regarding original fat ps3

I have a original first edition fat ps3. Thinking of upgrading to a PS4 and giving my daughter the ps3 for her bedroom for kids games and the dvd ability.

I don’t have a wired internet connection upstairs. Does the ps3 need the internet if she isn’t playing games on line? As I believe the original ps3 doesn’t have built in WiFi ?

PS3 has built in WiFi on all models unless it's a very early model, but you wouldn't need to connect it anyway to play games or watch disk based movies.

PS3 has built in wifi on *every* model from the launch version to the last one released.

I believe the 20GB launch model didn't have WiFi, but I'm not sure it was released in the UK. Probably not since the UK launch was delayed because of component shortages.

How noisy is your fat PS3? I bought mine partly so I could watch blu rays years ago but it was worthless as a player because within a few minutes it was so loud it drowned out any movie I was trying to watch.

60gb fat was the UK launch model, and had WiFi b/g.
