I'm fairly sure Pagefile.sys is the swap file

I've disabled the swap file on the C drive (and enabled it on another drive)

I still have a pagefile.sys in the root of my c drive, I wouldn't mind so much but it's 3Gb, is it safe to delete?

Also looking for it it seems to be locked as it doesn't let me remove the attributes for system hidden or archive from a command prompt

What application can I use to remove these attributes

Thanks in advance for any help

Wyv

EDIT:
If it makes any difference I'm running XP 64

Yes I have rebooted, i made the change a few days ago and only noticed as it's still trying to defrag a 3Gb pagefile which shouldn't be there (and failing (defragging) I might add)

did you click 'SET' after you chose 'no paging file'

try undoing and repeating the process if its still not working :)

Yes i did click "set" before exiting

this is what the option looks like after I have rebooted (i.e. before making changes)

Will try changing and resetting
