I brought adata 16gb 2133mhz ddr3 ram the other week, and using it in a Asus Crosshair V Formula Z at the moment - however it automatically clocks at 1333mhz.

I did a bit of reading an apparantly to allow the ram to clock at 2133mhz I have to change some settings in the Bios.

However I am a bit clueless as to how to do this safely as I am unfamiliar with the bios on this motherboard.

If someone could guide me with regards to getting the computer to register and use the ram at the ratings its meant to be I will eternally be grateful.

Many thanks

What cpu are you using in that board.

If it's an earlier Phenom II then you will have very little luck getting it to run at 2133mhz.

If it's bulldozer/piledriver then you'll be fine.

I'll leave it to someone with experience of that board to tell you exactly which settings and where to change them

That'll be fine then, other than I can't offer much help.

Have a look around the bios the see if there is an option to load the XMP profile as that should change all the required settings.

Try just loading XMP under the first tab in the bios. I think its first or second option down. Then set DRAM voltage to 1.65v and re-boot. Remember XMP is Intel memory profile so on AMD this is not guarenteed to work but often will.
