Hi,

Just a quick question regarding the OS - a friend told me that if you want to restore a single file from the recycle bin (or whatever it's called) you can't. You can either restore all items or delete all items... this can't be true can it?!?

Not trolling just genuinely interested.

Snow Leopard will re-introduce a feature that never made it in to OS X (from OS 9) called "Put Back".

At the moment, it's not possible to restore a single file from the Trash :(

Can be done through Time Machine, though.

What EVH says is correct, but so is what mr.sly.

You can't restore a single file back to it's original location automatically but you can open the Trash and drag that file out manually. It won't automatically go back where it originally was.

It's certainly not a case of all or nothing though.

You cant click a button or choose an option to put it back from the trash, but you can drag it back to where you want.

This is correct. The trash doesn't keep track of where files came from at this stage.
