Question Regarding Thermal Paste

If I purchased a i5-2500k and a titan fenrir cooler, would thermal paste already be preapplied onto the hardware?

I am basically wondering if I have to buy some alcohol-based solution / cloth to remove stock thermal compound.

The CPU will be clean.
Intel put thermal material on the bottom of the heatsink.

does that mean I will have to purchase some compound remover if I want to use artic silver...?

Also, what solution / pad would you suggest?

I guess you could scrape the pre-applied stuff of, but to remove and clean properly just get some of this

I don't think anyone actually read your original post. Only stock heatsinks come applied with thermal solution. If you are buying an aftermarket cooler, which you are then these are totally clean. You will need to buy some good compound, no need to remove anything as there is nothing to remove
