Question regarding USB and Analog headsets.

Basically, my friend is trying to decide between some new headets.

What I would like to know, is that if a headset uses purely usb for its connection - can it use a sound card? does it need to use a sound card?

Well how are you going to plug your USB headset into a soundcard ;)

The quality won't be as good and the flexibility limited to the USB headset chip which could be a good or bad thing depending on how well the headset and chipset are engineered in harmony.

USB = Quick easy portable headset
Analog = Quick easy portable headset

OK I was going to list the pros and cons but analog is just as easily inserted into a PCs onboard/soundcard and it's portable as most sources have these and it's quick it should work instantly.
