Question regarding WIn 8 upgrade

Hi there, My dad currently uses windows 7 on his system, and on it he uses media center a lot, if he was to upgrade to windows 8, would media center still be available? As i understand its not built in....

You can get it for free there, only available until January IIRC.

It's only available on Windows 8 Pro too - it's not available at all on the standard home edition. Which is a little silly.
