Hi all, first post here and on a board for probably 7ish years!

Need to fire out a quick question, been thinking today about watercooling again and all i have left from my previous expoilts is a silver storm g5 block.

Would this be a good place to start again, or have things moved on considerably?

Is this the same sort of design as the Swiftech Storm block?

They were designed for direct die cooling (the cooled area inside the block is only about 50mm2) so don't do very well for cooling big IHS covered CPUs these days.

Hi rnibleck

Welcome to the forums :)

it may be best to start off by looking at a complete kit from our Tech Lab range.

either that or give us a spec list for your system and we can give you a list of what you may need depending on budget.

cheers lad's, i'll get it weighed in then and start from scratch!

Jokester - If memory serves swiftech bought the design of the storm g4, the storm g5 was cathar's next design. He got a few milled in solid silver - was the dog's danglies back then.

does popping the HS off still give any tangible benefit?
