Howzit guys..

I need help....:p

I need to find the answer to the question below, to win a ride in a friends new M3. He says he knows how its done and if I can give him the answer, he will take me for a ride in his car...so, how is it done?

Machine:

Windows 98 with an old motherboard. The motherboard only supports 100Gbs...

So, how do I get 98 to show all 200Gbs without:

Flashing BIOS

Or
Partioning the hard drive??

pci ide controller would do it, i've done this a few times in the past to get around this problem

a ride, or a drive in the m3? :)

chances are there won't be a bios update for it -could be though

if you lived in britain, i'd post you a spare on i've got

Thanks bledd.

A drive, sorry...lol

Will sms him and see what he says..

( P.S: Used to be in the UK for five years ) :p

isnt there a 127.5 GB limit for Windows 98??

edit - wait isnt that a FAT32 thing can you not format the drive to NTSC and itll show the full 200??

edit 2 - nah you cant 98 doesnt like NTSC....still thinking.

I guess so, hey.

Will tell him it's not going to happen without a controller card.

Thanks, bledd and everyone. :)

ang on i think ive got it!

its a trick question, you just make 2 partitions on the same drive, its only the partitiion that cant be over 127.5 Gb isnt it??

if the motherboard can't see over 100gb, it'll ignore the rest of the drive

maybe he just doesn't want you in his m3 :p

either there's a hole in the original 'pitch' or he's using tipex & biro on the screen to say '200Gb' :p
