Just curious,For those who have a recent-ish purchase of a Filament Printer why did you choose this over a Resin printer?

I had a resin printer,Unfortunately it become faulty and i had to return it so i do not have a printer currently but was considering just getting a Filament one but would love to hear you guys opinions on Resin vs Filament,Or those of you that have BOTH printers..which one do you prefer the most and why.

Cheers :)

When I did my research I went filament because of the issues with the smell from resin, the extra care needed handling resin prints and the post processing needed. I'd like to get a resin printer one day.
Oh yeah you really can smell the resin,Its not ideal if you dont have a spare room to put the machine in.
What machine do you have if you dont mind me asking. :)

Creality Ender 3 S1. Good machine that I've had few issues with but what has gone wrong has taught me a few things. I run it with a Raspberry Pi 4 running Octoprint . Thinking of getting a second printer, Prusa Mini Pkus,

Same as most:
- Don’t have a garage or large area to do the resin printing in for smell.
- All chemicals involved and have to handle it carefully. Resin itself, the alcohol washing after etc.
- Seems like a lot more hassle post processing, cleaning then curing and removing supports
- Bit more expensive for the resin
- It’s improved by miles recently but years back resin printers screens and light had to be replaced more often, as low as few hundred hours on some.

Pretty much this.
Thanks for the feedbad guys :)

The two printers ive been looking into so far are -

Fokoos Odin-5 F3

Flashforge Adventurer 3

Both seem to have their advantages and disadvantages,
The flash forge seems more "Ready to go" out the box,has self feeding for the Filament,Has an auto leveling bed as far as im aware AND is a closed unit so should be quieter with the door closed.
BUT its more fussy with its spool size, you really have to buy flashforge spools as bigger spools dont fit in the side.

Fookos on the other hand,Does not have self leveling,BUT it has a bigger bed to play with so bigger prints can be done.
