(Question) Xbox 360 Media Remote Black

I can't seem to find out this no matter how much I google. If I buy my sister the new slim Xbox 360 Media Remote Black and it turns out she has the old fat 360 are they still compatible?

It would just be infra-red so it should work fine with an old console.

I've got one of these remotes (which are fantastic by the way) with my old style elite and it works perfectly.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah they look sweet a lot nicer looking than the old media remote I got with the HD-DVD drive.
