I have a 256MB 6800 GT, now is AGP the same as PCI? i cant seem to find an answer on OC the AGP & PCI section only seems to have AGP cards?

The Gainward BLISS GeForce 7800 GS "Goes Like Hell" 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (AGP)

500MHz Core, 512MB 1400MHz GDDR3 Memory, 20 Pixel Pipelines.

Will this be compatible with my system? and will i see a signifigant improvement in graphic performance?

My Spec

AV8-N Asus Delux Mobo
3500+ AMD 64
2 Gig RAM
256Mb 6800 GT

Thanks for any help

Should go fine with that setup, but I'd recommend a x1950 Pro with that setup. AGP class leaders list:-

9800 Pro(S/H), 6600 GT(S/H), 7600 GS (£77), 6800 GS(S/H), 6800 GT(S/H), X800 XT(S/H)…, 7600 GT (£103)…, x1950 Pro (£136)

First AGP & PCI are not the same. PCI is an older non-dedicated slot (dont bother buying a graphics card for a PCI slot).

Now the 3500+ is still a decent CPU & should be a good match for a higher end graphics card. Should let the whole rig last much longer than with the 6800GT.

Definitely stay away from that overpriced Gainward card.
Youre best bet is to get an AGP X1950Pro. They are all faster & cheaper than any 7800GS.

Choose either one of these ...

Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (AGP) - Retail
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-137-SP
£152.74 inc VAT

HIS ATI Radeon X1950 Pro ICEQ3 Turbo 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (AGP) - Retail (H1950PRQT512DDA-R)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-069-HT
£158.61 inc VAT

Personally i would get the HIS one witch is pre-overclock & has a better cooler.
