How many people have a 1gb version of the 4870 and which manufacturer?

do you recommend one of the 1gb cards,or recommend something else

i have about 220 pound to spend on a Graphics card, which one would you go for?:)

I would like one I only have a 512 >.> I like the look of the "gold sample" I would give a link but its wayyyy to long for the eye and I haven't worked out how to hid it :P

the gold sample has a different managment system on it as well but its up to you, in my option there is no difference really :|

All depends on what resolution you game at. You won't see a massive boost unless you go x2 at 1900x1200 or above as the 4870 1gb or 512mb is enough. 1gb is def better though at the higher res for smooth gameplay from what i have read. Gtx260 will also give you this. If you read back 512mb seemed enough but after the 1gb arived it looks like at high 1900x1200 and above this res 1gb is needed afterall.

A little bad but i have had lots of drinks hope the points are clear enough.

At that res your fine with 512 although if you think you might get a little more adventurous then the 1gb might be worth considering but at that res a 1gb card would be wasted.

i have a 28 inch monitor but im so used to that res,i just use it all the time, but maybe its time to change

Definatley! if you can game at 1920x1200 or whatever the native res is, you do it at that res! V silly having a 28" monitor and only gaming at 1024x768!!
