Hi,

I just bought a new monitor and wish to use its HDMI capability as im only using its VGA at the moment.

My graphics card is a MSI GeForce GTX 570 1280MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card which i purchased from OCUK.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-028-OK&groupid=1929&catid=1756&subcat=

would this adapter be compatible to connect into the dvi ports on the back of the graphics card and then run a HDMI cable fromt the adapter to my HDMI port on the monitor?

I read the ports on my graphics card are DVI-I ?? but on OCUK it doesnt say which DVI connection it is.

Any help would be appreciated

Adapter looks fine to me, I'd Google the DVI-I bit just to be 100% safe because I'm unsure but I wouldnt imagine that being a problem IMO.

Thanks for the response Kidge.

I've done some google work and i believe DVI-I supports both Digital and Analogue which leads me to believe that DVI-D adapter would work with it.

If anyone else would like to correct me feel free as i MAY be wrong but i think i'll just purchase it as its only a few quid anyways and give it a shot!.

Does the card not have a mini HDMI slot? Pretty sure all the MSI 570s have 1 mini HDMI out. You should have a mini HDMI to HDMI adapter in the box.
