Going to be getting my internet from Be* (when I've got the line sorted with BT) but have a couple of questions.

1. The master socket is in the hallway, is there any problem with plugging the router into another socket in the living room, i.e. loss of speed.

2. Do I stick with the modem supllied by Be or is there a better one out there.

3. Wireless signal, I'm going to be needing a signal to go up 2 floors, would I just be better off getting the home plug thingys for this?

You'll have to excuse me, the first time I'll have had ADSL and I'm used to cable services :o

1. You can plug the router into another socket. However, make sure the ring wire is removed. See here for instructions.

2. The supplied modem is 'okay'. Personally, I had quite a few dropouts, so went for a replacement.

3. Just see what sort of signal you get in the first instance. If it is poor you may want to consider a wireless booster or increasing to an N range router.

It depends on your wiring whether you'll see any loss of speed. Filter at the master socket and keep all the phones and extension wiring on the filtered side and as long as you're using decent quality cable (and you're not running miles of it) you should be alright.
