Questions about changing xblive account

Well due to the fact you can't use a different Hotmail/MSN address from the one you signed up with to access the new Messenger stuff I want to set up a new live account.

I have an account that is in Silver ATM (gold sub just ran out)

Can I cancel this, but transfer my achievements to a new gamertag (with gold sub)? (changing gamertag name won't do because I need to change the registered email)


Help appreciated.

You should probably call the MS tech support. I'm sure they can change your MSN account if necessary.
 
I would hang fire right now, i would be surprised if their isn't a HUGE uproar about not being able to pick your MSN addy, especially since many folk will have live subs maybe 4 years old and e-mail adresses change all the time.
I would wait and see what MS/MN have to say, if they say 'suck it up' then fair enough but i would still wait

Apparently they've unlocked the Yahoo accounts so you can change the email address, but the Hotmail accounts are still a no go :(
