OK, I'm definitely going to buy a widescreen mointor and was thinking of about 20", but as there are a lot of monitors coming out in this sort of range I wanted to seek some advice first, so please bear with me here:

1) Of the 20" Philips, Dell, Belinea, NEC and Viewsonic monitors, which do you think offers the best value for money? I intend to use the monitor for all round purposes, including gaming and watching films. Based purely on what I've read and seen, so far I prefer the Dell, Philips and Viewsonic (although I have a XV912 and I'm not a fan of the stand - I prefer lower set screens).

2) Can the 2005FPW pivot vertically like the 2405FPW, so I can play games in TATE mode?

3) How good is the image quality through the composite and s-video inputs on the Dell? Need to know as the ones on my current Samsung aren't too great and if they don't give a good image then I'll just go far DVI/VGA

Thanks

Thanks for the response guys - I might just go for the Dell over the over 20" monitors. And sorry about the double post...pressed quote instead of edit by mistake.

I was going to use the composite for gaming via older consoles, but I could buy
a VGA box.

As for ghosting my current Samsung is also 16ms and ghosting doesn't seem too bad on that. I'm not the "go up to a wall and pan the camera really quick to see if there's any blurring" type. ;)

oh, just one more thing. Is there a button on the bezel to switch between DVI, VGA, composite and s-video or do you need to enter the monitor's menu?

thanks
