im thinking about the evga 680i but im hearing that it has a few problems

eg: 1066mhz memmory probs, ps/2 keyboard probs, and raid sata problems

can any one let me know if these are true or what problems this board currently has? and problems you have come accross?

whats peoples opinions on it?

They are 'true' but most have now been fixed with bios updates.

I've not had ANY of the reported problems though. Runs like a dream here tbh. :)

good to hear im liking evgas wilingness to fix problems with there boards not to mention there 90 day return program, so id prefer to get there product but only if the bugger works

i think the sta raid issue was my only big concern and any potention issues with 8500 ram

If you intend on upgrading to quad core you may want to wait a while as the older revisions do not overclock quad core very well - this has been fixed but a hardware fix was needed so it was either a case of RMA'ing your old revision board or buying a later revision. Core2Duo is unaffected by the hardware update.

Yeah if people could just a post a refresher on the potential issues with the 680i (evga or across the board) it would be much appreciated. I too am contemplating a change and have held back so far.

Cheers,

Nick :).

I've had the RAID problems and the PS2 keyboard issues, the PS2 problem can be "fixed" by using a USB keyboard, the RAID problems are the luck of the draw, though they may have fixed it in the new revision (the BIOS update doesn't fix it).
