Hi all.
I have been on ADSL Max for a while now and have noticed in the evening my SNR seems to drop. In the morning/early afternoon my SNR is over 7, at night it drops to as low as 0db !!
I would really like to be able to sync at 8128kbps, but with interleaving off. My line is currently perfectly stable and it has not disconnected, but I think if I ask my ISP to turn interleaving off, it will make the line unstable.
For this reason I would like to increase my SNR.
Does anyone know why my SNR seems to drop at night, what could be the reasons for this?
My router is currently plugged into an extension which is upstairs, but I would like to move this to the mastersocket.
I have looked at the mastersocket and have noticed it is not one of the newer BT NTE5 mastersockets, it just looks like a normal single phone socket - do you think an NTE5 would make a difference?
Also, I have a house alarm which is hard-wired into the phone line, it basically rings my mobile number if the alarm is activated - could this be a problem, as I don't think it is filtered....?
Here are my line stats:
DSL Path Mode: INTERLEAVED
Downstream Rate: 8128 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 2 db
Upstream Margin: 22 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 30
Upstream Line Attenuation: 14
Any tips to improve the SNR would be great, thanks.
