I have received the bits from OC for my new build and I have (currently) 2 questions. It has been a few years (probably about 10) since my last build so be nice to me

Firstly with regard to the power to the mother board. The power supply has a large connector, 1 8 pin connector and 2 4 pin connectors. I have figured out the large and one of the 4 pins go together into the large socket on the motherboard, this leaves me with 1 8 pin socket with 4 pins covered over and 2 connectors. If I plug one of the remaining connectors into this socket what happens to the other one. Currently I have put the 8 pin there leaving me with a 4 pin.
Secondly I brought an SSD to go with my new build (boy are these guys small
). It doesn't seem to fit nicely anywhere, is there something else I should have brought or can I just blu-tack it somewhere convenient? The case is Coolermaster CM-690.
