Hi folks..
I've just built an i7 system built around the P6T Deluxe board, and have a few questions regarding the use of Q Fan. This is the first time I've really bothered about looking into properly controlling the noise output, so bare with me..
1). Q Fan is just what Asus call their system of controlling fan speed?
2). Whether I change the settings in the bios, or through Fan Xpert, I'm essentially changing the same thing?
3). Using Fan Xpert in Vista, I've set the chasis fan profile to be 'silent', and I've set a custom profile for the CPU, which isn't that different to silent.
However, on restart and after post, I get a 'CPU Fan error, press F1 to continue' warning.
ASUS probe also bitches when the CPU fan rpm drops below 600, and I can't find a way of reducing this. I presume the two are related somehow.
Using these settings, CPU temp ranges from 30-55. I believe this is completely safe?
Any guidance is appreciated.
Dean.
