Is this the right forum for this question?

Anyway getting my PS3 this week so i've got 2 simple questions on this subject.

Is 100gb HDD going to be OK as an upgrade? I mean what do I actually need the space for?

Does it have to be a 5400 drive or can I put a 7200 drive in?

Ta

but if your asking what the extra space is for, then i personally dont think you'll need bigger :)

Well the point being - I wanted to get a feeling for what people use theirs for first but if James.Miller can put that much on it and only use 62GB then I think i'll just leave it for now and see how I go.

I don't think I'll be putting music on it, but movies and/or demo's is a possibility. What I was wondering though is whether I can file share and stream movies from my PC through the PS3?

Cool, this has been a useful thread. If I can stream everything from the PC then that's one reason to wait. Also if I can fully backup all game saves before replacing the hard drive then again another reason to wait. I'm not sold on the PlayTV thing yet either. So the sensible thing to do is just see how I go, if I need to upgrade in the future then I will do, if I don't, then I won't :)
