As requested by Burnsy2023; my new thread:

I'm an idiot and cant comprehend the whole Vista situation, so can anyone answer my questions please? :o

1) If I buy Vista Home Premium 64bit OEM, can I only install it once and never upgrade hardware again? (Without having to buy another Vista key)

2) Will the OEM 64bit version still run 32bit programs?

3) Why is the 64bit version of Vista Home Premium RETAIL not included in the package?

4) Does buying the retail version mean I can install it as many times as I like? Even after upgrading my hardware over time?

5) What version do you recommend I buy? I want to upgrade to 4gb of RAM and I use my PC for gaming, internet, music, movies, CD/DVD burning, and other general thingies.

Thank you very much :D

1/ You can install it on the same pc as many times as you want, but you can't upgrade the motherboard as this is classed a new PC
2/ Yes
3/ not a clue, you can send off for the 64 bit cd though
4/ yes
5/ 64bit Home prem. OEM if you wont be changing the motherboard for a few years. Retail if you will change often.

if you have a valid xp serial. look for the upgrade version of vista. All the benefits of retail at almost oem price if you look around. You also don't need xp installed, you just type in the serial.

Thanks for your replies! :D

Even if I've used my XP key over 5 times can I still use it? Last time I tried to use this key it told be I've ran out of activation times (or something along that line.) Is it still OK to use? It was a student version I got years and years ago.
