What do you think of the config below?
I'd like to have a quiet PC for Multimedia and office use (web surfing + videos + Excel & Word, etc), usually have a lot of applications running together but no video or images editing or gaming

Specific question on the motherboard: could I get a cheaper one? same thing for the cpu cooler?
would like to have an usb 3.0 port?

Many thanks

Welcome,

So a quiet PC for general use. It's a good start. Few issues though.

A budget would help us spec you something.

Yes, you can get a cheaper motherboard a H61/H67 motherboard. Some of these have USB3 & SATA III though the majority do not.

The case and Cooler look great. The issue i have is the PSU. I'd suggest a branded one such as: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-059-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1084

Is this a system you want building for you? Or are you ahppy to build the system yourself and save a bit of money?

Not sure I can do it myself frankly so will have to pay £50 for the installation
Budget: £650 max - Dont need an OS, Mouse & Keyboard or Monitor

Thanks - will have a look to your PSU and check some motherboard

Any additional comments welcome? any way I can save a bit of money somewhere?

Thank you

Don't sell your self short, most of the PC's on the planet are put together by people that never went to school, there are loads of you tube vids to show you how for the most part if it fits its in the right hole :)

Also if your going for an I3 give it a week as the ivy bridge ones will be out and should either drop the sandy prices or give you an extra bit of bang for your buck. 24th or 25th depending on which article you believe.

But swap the processor for i3-3225 whenits released as this will give you the HD4000 graphics which will be a big upgrade if your planning on sticking with onboard.

As for cooler the stock cooler will be fine if you not overclocking which you wont be with an I3 the only benefit is noise reduction if your getting one go for a cheep quiet one post a thred on the cooling section if you need advice.

Thanks - Good advice re the latest i3 release

Do you think I'll have problems if I replace the case by the Cooler Master Silencio 450 (a bi cheaper and seems also have all the options I need but seems it might be a more complicated to do the job myself)?

Thanks again
