Before i slam down £500 on a Asus VG278H can someone confirm it will come with dual link dvi cable and it will connect to my GTX 580 @1920x1080 120hz?

Just want to make sure im not missing anything :p

Also is there a new 3d 27" with built in nvidia 2.0 coming out soon i should wait for??

Im coming from a 1360x768 via VGA on a 32" HDTV so hoping for step up in quality at the cost of screen size.

Hope im making a good choice.

Thanks guys

Well i done some research and it appears it does come with dual link cable and gtx580 will run at 1920x1080 via its dvi connection.

Lets hope now for no dead pix and no bad back light bleed :S

Well its coming tomorrow, i will report back here what i think incase anyone is looking to get one. No replies in this thread but quite a few views. Just me talking to myself lol :)

Games i will test tomorrow. Trine 2 demo, Batman AA, Civ V and maybe few more. Going to try get skyrim possibly. Also will test Guild Wars 2 on wednesday, although latest update made 3D unplayable.

I'm still undecided myself. I would buy this one, but it's so much more expensive than the alternatives.... but the main alternative (Samsung) has major displayport issues, and the iiyama is a little unknown picture-quality wise. Perhaps it's just not a good time to buy a 27" 120hz monitor :( I'm trying to convince myself to play the waiting game, I'm convinced Samsung are going to release an update to the 750D in the not-too-distant future (I've always liked Samsung monitors/tv's, both for overall quality and aesthetics).

What graphics card are you running the Samsung off? My main hesitation was that even if I bought an AMD one (which they supposedly have the fewest issues with) I wanted it to be very future-proof, as most of my monitors I've kept for quite a number of years! Seems like a great monitor though, really like the aesthetics too!

Flyinmunky, It's a difficult time choosing a monitor atm there seems nothing out there that really ticks all the boxes and playing the waiting game is no fun, after a fair amount of re-search I decided to bite the bullet too with Asus even though the price tag is a tad on the steep side (imo).

Your certainly going to see a big difference coming from 1360 x 768 ;)

It may be worth picking up LA Noire from steam - depending what your in to of course but for a £5 (sale price until Thursday) you can't really go wrong as it boast some really good 3d visuals from what i've read.

I'm going to be running the same monitor on a single 570 GTX however with 3D gaming being quite taxing on the gpu I have the feeling a 680 will be on the cards sooner than later.

Hope all goes well with your new toy.

Well guys ive had it for couple of days now and im pretty impressed.

+ No major bleeding from what i can see.
+ no Dead pixels
+ Cable was provided
+ 120 hz feels good :)
+ Running on a single GTX580 and games run fine in 3D and high settings.

As far as 3D goes it took a day for my eyes to adjust to it and i dont recommend playing in 3D when tired but....

Batman AC is fantastic in 3D!! The 3D effect is awesome, cant imagine playing it in 2D now.

Also awesome is witcher 2. Makes me wanna play the gamne from the start again. very impressed.

Battlefield 3 is a bit meh in 3D but ive read you can edit a file to adjust convergence etc so may try that.

Overall im really happy, only bad thing is i now hate playing in 2D, games feel like they lacking somthing lol.

Im off to play with catwoman in 3D ;)

I've not tried Batman yet but Skyrim looks sweet in 3D as does Diablo 3 and SC2.

Have one slight problem I'm yet to find an answer so if anyone knows be good to hear from you.

When running a second LCD 27" (non 3d) monitor as an extended desktop using the 2nd DVI port of the back on my 570 i've noticed that the Asus monitors 3D panel indicator only lights up maybe once a blue moon when playing a 3D game, hence unable to play 3D unless I unplug the 2nd monitor.

If I drop the game into a window mode then back to full screen that sometimes get the indicator to light up, The 3D Nvidia test works every time with 2 monitors connected so kind of baffled to the cause.

With just the Asus plugged in as a solo it works flawless.

That aside am really pleased with the Asus both 2D and 3D.

Sadly im now looking to return this monitor. It has some serious gradient (Banding issues).

Tried multiple settings/drivers :S. Shame as backlight bleed was fine and no dead pixels. Banding issues wasnt somthing i looked for untill i noticed on a lot of videos and high res photos i use to look at on my old screen looked horrible due to banding on this one.
