Hi all,

Looking to cut down my monthly outgoings. It's insane that I'm spending almost £50 a month for a phone line I don't really use and on Infinity Option 2.

I've got a basic Virgin Media package but moved my broadband because I got fed up with my Steam downloads being crippled after the first 1.5GB or so.

What's Virgin Internet like now? I hear they've dropped the draconian traffic management policies on most packages so I'm thinking of moving back and badgering them into a decent deal.

when it works its great. Had infinity 2 but VM 152MBPS is much faster. However I have had 3 superhub 2s in 12 months and 2 SNR faults also in that time. Having said that.
They don't charge £99 for a hub/router, you only need one box and all callouts and parts are free.

I'm paying £28.50 a month for Virgin Fibre only. I get about 50Mb/s so download games in about half an hour. I've never noticed any speed restrictions, though apparently they will reduce your Uploading speed if you upload too much during peak times. Had it since February & only had one network issue where the internet was down for about 2 hours.

Virgin no longer apply STM 'traffic management' to the downstream, so you won't be capped or restricted on that front. If your area has utilisation/congestion issues that's another matter though. You could always sign up to the top tier broadband (152Mbps for now, but rising soon) and take advantage of the no quibble 30 day cancellation guarantee if it's not what you expect? As said above we get 155+Mbps 24/7 without issues.

Cheers all. Much appreciated :)
