Hello,

Well I have a number of questions, firstly what are pwm fans?
2. What fan would you recommend for quietness and best temperatures for my h50?
3. If I mod my h50 get a dual rad and get a gpu block for my 6850 can the h50 pump handle it ?

thanks

Thanks aaron, what is the difference between pwm fans and normal fans and I heard the gentle typhoons are good, how do they compare to the apache?

what is the difference between pwm fans and normal fans

A PWM fan will always run at 12V but is capable of changing its speed according to the CPU temperature. A normal fan will always try and run at maximum speed, but the voltage supplied to it will change depending on the temperature. What this means is that it will be trying to go faster than it can and therefore be a lot noisier than a PWM fan.

Get a gentletyphoon 1450 or 1800 for your H50 and no the pump will not handle that.

As for PWM. I wouldnt worry about getting a PWM fan. PWM is a fancy way of making a fan spin slower without sacrificing its efficiency or making it tick. To put it simply, it switches the 12v power on and off VERY fast instead of just providing a lower voltage all of the time. Many motherboards will control a fans speed depending on CPU load via PWM. This drives me mad since the fan speed will always be changing depending on CPU load.
