Queue for custom builds with 3000 series in?

Hello,

I can't get any clear info from OCs as I haven't been able to get through to them on the phone. I understand there is a queue system if you want to buy the 3000 series graphics cards. But what if I want to buy a custom gaming PC on this site with one of those cards? Will I get a queue number too? I am just worried about spending all that money not knowing where I am in the queue, or with OCs potentially favouring customers just buying the card...leaving me waiting for like 3-4 months.

Surely OCUK shouldn’t be offering the 3080 in prebuilt systems until the preorders have been fulfilled and they have some spare stock to actually use for the systems?

That's what I wondered. But you can indeed order custom builds with the 3080's and 3090's in currently. So that's why I want to know about if I go in the queue or what happens

Out of idle curiosity I went into the buy a custom PC section and tried to see if I could pick a PC with a 3080. I selected the most expensive PC I could find (to see if that makes a difference) and I customised it by trying to select a 3080.. The 3080s all appear in red, indicating that they are not in stock, so no, OC do not reserve 3080s for people who order a complete system. Fair play to them.

No, not really fair. Why shouldn't I be able to join the same queue as people buying just the card? Otherwise I am paying 3k up front with zero idea of when I will get the PC. The stock is red because they do not have it...so yes it can be pre-ordered by the looks of things.

It makes perfect sense to just put people on the waiting list when they order the PC. No queue jumping just because you’re spending more money.

It makes sense to put them in the queue. No queue jumping - just going in place depending on when you order. So if you ordered just the card 5 mins ago and were number 2000, and then I go order this PC; I should be 2001.

Exactly.

@Gibbo Any chance of clarification on this one please Gibbo?

lol well they did the same for the i9-9900k launch, no stock but plenty of "binned chips" at 30% markup
